Newport Primary School Pupils Bring Our Spring Window to Life

A Spring Window Full of Community Spirit

This spring, we wanted to do something a little different at Brikk. Something creative, local, and centred around the community we’re so proud to be part of.

So, we teamed up with Newport Primary School to launch a Spring Window Design Competition, inviting Primary 3/4 pupils to help us bring our front window to life.

A Creative Brief (and Brilliant Results)

The brief was simple: design a bright, colourful, spring-themed window display inspired by home.

What followed was anything but simple.

We received a fantastic collection of entries, full of imagination, colour, and thoughtful ideas. Every pupil stuck to the brief and did a wonderful job. The creativity and effort across the board was genuinely impressive, and it made choosing winners no easy task.

Celebrating our winners

Nykky visited the school to present the winners with the news, joined by Safi from Fig & Fromage.

The top three winners each received:

Our 1st place winner, Anika (age 8), created a design full of colour and personality, a perfect reflection of spring.

Bringing the designs to life

Anika’s winning design has now been painted onto our front window, taking centre stage for everyone passing by.

But we didn’t want it to stop there.

  • All three winning drawings are displayed in the window
  • Elements from the 2nd and 3rd place designs have been incorporated into the overall artwork

This means each winner can see their design come to life, not just on paper, but as part of a shared display for the whole community to enjoy.

A special thank you to Boo at Now Imagine That for bringing the overall design together so beautifully.

A Small Project, A Big Impact

This was a wee community project, but one that means a lot to us.

It’s about encouraging creativity, getting young people involved locally, and brightening up our window with some lovely colour for everyone to enjoy.

Most of all, it’s about connection, something we value just as much as the properties we work with every day.

Thank you

A big thank you to all the pupils who took part, you made this incredibly difficult to judge, in the best possible way.

And thank you to:

  • Newport Primary School for welcoming us
  • Fig & Fromage for helping in the selection process & supporting the prizes
  • Now Imagine That for bringing the designs to life

We hope you love the drawings and the new window design. Pop by next time you’re passing.
